Power flushes is a service that we have always provided at Thanet Boilers. And they can take a day with prices starting at £350.

But what is a power flush?

The Thanet Boilers team will come in, drain down your water system and then connect a powerful pump to the central heating system. In goes a cleaning solution which we power round the pipes at high pressure which shifts built-up deposits which we then remove from the system.

The process of a power sludge works to remove sludge, debris and rust (from older metal pipes) meaning that the hot water gets distributed better.

And what are the advantages of a power flush?

There are a wide range of advantages for a central heating system of a power flush. And most of those will help to easily cover the cost of the work that we do in improved efficiency and reduced energy bills.

  • More Efficient System - When we clear the blockages and sludge, you get better water circulation which leads to quicker heat-up times and more consistent warmth throughout your home.
  • Reduced Energy Bills - Your system is all working more efficiently now, so your boiler is working more easily resulting in less energy usage to heat your home.
  • Boiler Lifespan - When we get rid of the rust and debris, it means that vital parts of our boiler (such as the heat exchanger) is protected from it, generally extending the lifespan of your heating system.
  • Less Noise - Now we have cleared the debris away, this very often results in a better sounding boiler operation. None of the whirring and whizzing that you sometimes hear when your boiler fires up.
  • Cold Spots - All heating systems tend to have cols parts, of the house or of radiators. It stands to reason that now we have reduced the debris knocking around, the hot water moves more freely you will notice less cols spots.
