There are also a number of key stages when installing a new boiler:

What type of boiler do you need? Some heating systems and certainly the age of your property will determine the boiler solution:

  • Combi Boilers: A small, compact solution which provide hot water on demand and no need for a hot water storage tank
  • System Boilers: Medium sized installations which include a hot water cylinder which are good for homes with multiple bathrooms
  • Conventional Boilers: Larger installations which require both a water tank and hot water cylinder, suitable for larger homes

How big will your new boiler need to be?

  • Sizing: Getting the correct size boiler for your property is vital. Undersized boilers may struggle to give you enough hot water and no-one wants a cold shower!
  • Efficiency: We want to make sure that you have the right boiler for your home. Oversized boilers just create additional costs by heating water that is surplus to requirements.
  • Space Available: We need to make sure that the boiler we suggest is fit for purpose for the under stairs, cellar or cupboard space available.

Don't worry about all this. We are here to help you every step of the way.

So How Does a Typical Boiler Installation work?

Here is our 8 step boiler installation process.

  • Consultation - Thanet Boilers will come and assess your heating and hot water needs, take a look at the current system and get some feedback from you on what works and what you need
  • Preparation - The old boiler will be removed and we will adjust any pipework if necessary
  • Choose Location - We will have discussed this with you already but we'll confirm where the new boiler is to be installed (kitchen, cupboard, utility room or similar)
  • Installation - Thanet Bpilers will then install the new boiler, connect it to the existing gas, water and heating systems including ensuring a flue is fitted to vent gases outside safely
  • System Flush - We will carry out a full system flush which will remove any sludge and will make sure that the hot water travels around your central heating system quickly and efficiently
  • Test Boiler Installation - We will then test the new boiler installation for leaks and safety compliance
  • The Handover - We will show you the new set-up, how it works, controls, warranty and agree a maintenance schedule with you. We will also go ahead and registerthe installation with manufacturer for your warranty
